Initially I was hesitant to jump on the SaaS bandwagon.
What is SaaS you ask? SaaS stands for Software as a Service (aka software subscription).
The 2017 top SaaS is currently Office 365. This is a spot Office 365 has held since 2015. Other popular SaaS offerings on that list are ADP, Dropbox, DocuSign, and Adobe Creative Cloud to name a few.
Why my hesitation? Paying for software monthly did not make sense to me, and I really did not want to add to my already growing list of subscription services. (Ex. Netflix, PureFlix, this flix, that flix.)
BUT then the light bulb came on, the clouds began to part, and the sun shined brightly!
I would like to share with you my personal experience with Office 365 Software as a Service.
In the beginning I had a laptop. Then I purchased a new desktop. Later I bought my daughter a laptop and a desktop. Each time a new system was purchased I was faced with the challenge of transferring software. I made the decision, begrudgingly, to try the subscription version of Office. With my Office 365 subscription, I was able to install the latest version of Office on all four systems. Each install was consistently fast and easy, the management was user friendly, and I became somewhat impressed.
With my subscription, I am able to install the current version of Office on five PCs or Macs, five tablets (Windows, iPad, and Android), and five phones.
I am sold! Since the start of my subscription, I have replaced and upgraded systems, and Microsoft has had a number new releases. There was not a single worry about lost product keys, activation issues, or outdated versions. Each time a new system was purchased, I simply entered my credentials and installed the full latest version of the software. All for less than $10 per month. Spectacular!
My personal experience has been a good one. The business experience is even better. As my article reaches its limitation of space allowed, here are a few of the benefits to your business by implementing an Office 365 Business plan:
- Includes the complete Office suite with the latest versions of: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, Publisher (PC only), OneDrive for Business, Access (PC only)
- Each end-user can install Office on five PCs or Macs, five tablets (Windows, iPad, and Android) and five phones.
- Per-user licensing eliminates buying, assigning, managing, and tracking individual software licenses.
- Office 365 dashboard provides a straightforward process for assigning licenses and removing licenses.
- And much, much more.
Office 365 Business is only one of the many business plans offered. Other business plans include email and calendars, file storage and sharing, online conferencing, and the list goes on.
